RV Tips: 4th of July Crafts for the Campground

Stars & Stripes Straws

Give your drinks a patriotic makeover when you make some stars and stripes straws!  This easy craft takes just a few minutes to create.

What You Need:

  • Striped paper straws
  • A large star punch
  • Scissors
  • Craft foam

How to Make It:

  1. Use the star punch to cut out stars in your craft foam.
  2. Cut two parallel slits into the stars.
  3. Slip the star over the straw and enjoy your favorite summertime drinks with a patriotic flair!

Bandana Napkin Rings

Set your picnic table apart with these cute, festive napkin rings!

What You Need:

  • Red Bandana
  • Blue Bandana
  • Scissors

How to Make It:

  1. Cut your bandanas into 1″ x 6 ” strips.
  2. Use the strip to tie together a napkin, fork, knife, spoon, and straw for each of your table guests.

Festive Placemat

 

What You Need:

  • 4 15″ x 11″ rectangles of red and white striped fabric
  • 4 6″ x 5″ denim rectangles — us an old pair of jeans
  • Fabric glue
  • Hot Glue
  • 4 15″ lengths of white yarn
  • Popsicle stick

How to Make It:

  1. Using the hot glue gun, trace a five-pointed star on a denim square and lay the yarn on top of it. Tap it gently into the glue using a popsicle stick to avoid burning your fingers. Repeat on all four denim squares.
  2. Using the fabric glue, attach the denim square to the top left corner of the red striped fabric.
  3. Gentle fray the edges by pulling 3-4 rows of threads out on either end.
