It’s time to start planning your first adventure in your new Jayco Precept 31UL class A motorhome from Manteca Trailer Sales! If you’re new to the world of RVing and eager to get out to the campground, these easy RV tips can help you make the most of your maiden voyage. Check out these three spring camping tips below!

Pack in Layers
Depending on where you camp, spring weather can be unpredictable! Plan on packing layers. This way, you can be comfortable in shorts and a tee-shirt during the day and easily put on a jacket when the temperatures drop in the evening. Additionally, you’ll want to check the weather before you leave to ensure you’re prepared for any extreme weather that may come your way.
Plan for Rain
A good rule of thumb for spring camping is to always plan for rain. Even if the forecast predicts blue skies, you don’t want to be caught without the proper equipment to stay comfortable and dry should a spring rain come your way. Pack tarps for covering your outdoor chairs and equipment at night, towels for drying off after being out in the rain, and umbrellas.
Take Bug Spray
No matter where you are in the country, springtime is the time for pests to start showing up again. Pack plenty of bug spray and citronella candles for placing around the campground. Mosquitos and ticks are some of the worst pests for campers in the spring, so load up on the bug repellant before you leave!
Tip: If you’d like a more natural solution to your bug problems, throw a bundle of dried sage into your campfire! The smell of burning sage repels mosquitos, so you should be able to enjoy your evening without a problem.
