1. Pack Layers

The autumn brings a variety of temperatures throughout the day, so it’s best to pack layers. You’ll want to bring along t-shirts, jeans, long sleeve shirts, and a jacket at least. Additionally, consider bringing a hat, mittens, and a scarf to help you stay warm during the chilly mornings and evenings.

2. Use Your RV’s Fireplace

We use our fireplace to warm up in the morning and again when we head in for the night. Because ours is electric, it doesn’t take much energy to run and keeps us toasty warm all night long. Be careful using your fireplace by keeping things away from the vent.

3. Make Easy Meals

One of our favorite ways to make our camping trips easier is by preparing our meals ahead of time. Typically, we try to pack easy breakfasts like cereal, but you can break eggs and add them to a bottle for an easy way to make scrambled eggs one morning. Lunches are often sandwiches because they’re perfect for making quickly between adventures. You can prep dinner at home by chopping veggies, preparing your spices, and portioning your servings into zippered bags or Tupperware before leaving the house so that it’s easier to make at the campground.

4. Plan for Rain

Lastly, you’ll want to plan for rain. Pack tarps, towels, and plenty of changes of clothes in case you get caught out in the rain. The autumn is often unpredictable, so it’s good to plan for the worst so that you are prepared.
