Recharge the Battery

Before you leave for the campground, you’ll want to ensure your RV’s battery is ready for the trip. In general, most RVers recharge their RV battery over the winter but don’t worry if you haven’t. Contact our RV service department if you have any questions or concerns about the best way to recharge and maintain your RV’s battery.

Look For Leaks

As the RV sits over the winter, the wear and tear of the weather can cause leaks in the seals. You’ll want to do a thorough inspection of the roof, slides, windows, and doors. Additionally, check the seals around your AC units, skylights, and any other places where the seams could allow water in, if compromised. These are easy to repair with the right sealants and silicone, but you can always have a professional handle the repairs if you notice any problem spots..

Safety Devices

Take the time to go through your RV and check all of the smoke alarms, LP detector, CO2 detectors, and replace any fire extinguishers that are outdated. There’s no way to predict when an accident may happen, so it’s always best to be prepared for the worst.

Reseal the Windows and Air Vents

RV windows and air vents sometimes need a little TLC after sitting in storage. Be sure to double-check all the seals around your windows and apply new sealant or silicone where necessary. The air vents throughout your RV should be cleaned and sealed, as well.
